Carnival Dream Cruiseliner

A 7 DAY CRUISE FROM NEW ORLEANS

Carnival Dream was our cruise liner after our first 4 days in New Orléans. We headed down to the docks from our base in the French Quarter. We arrived at the docks to be greeted by a myriad of porters transferring luggage to the ship in a very organised fashion. The checking in procedure was fairly swift. UK passengers make sure you have your ESTA confirmations with you it will speed you process. http://www.carnival.co.uk

Carnival Dream is massive but not the biggest cruise liner on the seas. We had a mixture of inner cabins and balcony cabins all were spacious and very clean. We were greeted by our cabin steward which was a nice touch. We dumped our hand luggage and started to explore the ship. Within the first 2 hours before embarkation we attended a compulsory safety meeting which was held in various restaurants on board ship.

Carnival Dream takes a few days to realise how many things are on offer and their locations. The Ship boasts 2 swimming pools  16 hot tubs and many lounge areas. There ia also an adult only spa area. Food is available 24 hours a day and varies from Indian to Italian and everything in between. Food is plentiful on board and appeals to people with huge appetites. The standard of cuisine is 5 star and nothing is too much trouble in the restaurants. Our waiting staff for our 10 person party were extra attentive. A special thanks to Rushad, Omar and Keith who were our waiters on the cruise, you were brilliant. We all felt sad when we had to say goodbye.

The entertainment is varied with american style variety shows, Comedians (which were very blue and definitely not for the sensitive), Singers and Bands all playing various styles of music from steel bands to dance and then to country. They perform daily in the Atrium, the night club, the casino, the piano bar and other smaller bars dotted around the ship including the pool bar at the stern of the ship. Disc Jockeys also perform during the day and night creating a good happy atmosphere on board.

We really enjoyed the outdoor Dive in Cinema on board which shows films nightly and the free popcorn is a nice touch. One of the films we enjoyed was Deadpool, a crazy film which confused some.

Other features of Carnival Dream are 4 water slides, a crazy golf course, a basketball court, Table tennis, A Library, and a fantastic Casino which becomes the main meeting point on the ship and is one of their main profit areas. It boasts dozens of slots with amazing jackpot. and various tables along cranes with 500$ jackpot and some skill machines with 1000$ jackpot. All slots are operated by your sale cards which are credited points which enable you to take part in daily free raffles giving away future cruises and gaming money for the casinos.

All in all the Carnival Dream keeps you as active as you want for the length of your cruise. You will certainly never grow hungry or find yourself bored. The Staff are first class all organised by an enthusiastic Jase who has the job of the Cruise Director. ( there are other cruise directors that share this role on each separate vacation).

We will all miss our times on board especially the formal dress nights where 90% of the passengers do dress up to impress.

As Jase said many times during his announcements Bye ….I said Bye

Yes we will miss you Carnival Dream!boat1 boat2 boat3 boat4
